Filed Under (My Implant/Bridge) by Tony Stai on 03-03-2009

Well, it took 3 hours of sitting in the chair but I think it was worth it.  I have a temporary bridge that looks very close to what the real thing will look like.

And…I love it.

I think this was definitely the right choice for me.  I have a whole new smile or at least a significant portion of it.

The permanent bridge will be installed in about 3 weeks.  I can hardly wait.

I brought my Ipod with and turned it up very loudly to try to cover the sound of drilling 3 teeth down to skinny posts.  It was definitely a weird feeling when he was done grinding.  I joked about having Halloween teeth.

As he was grinding away, I did have a fleeting thought about “what have I done” but it went away quickly.  I’m sure that’s pretty normal.

As a bonus, my bite has slightly more room because there isn’t any cement behind the front teeth for keeping in that Maryland bridge anymore.  One more thing to get used it to, I guess.

I’ll follow-up with any issues over the next 3 weeks.  Right now my gums are a little beat up but no pain or sensitivity to speak of.
