My mom has had a toothache for about a week. We don't have the money to see a dentist. And she's in a lot of pain. She tried oragel and whiskey but it's not even numbing it anymore. Is there something else that can numb it until we can find a way to get the money for the dentist. Please Help.

of course you know that pain is a symptom that something wrong is happening. Make sure that there are no free dental schools or clinics around, or maybe your dentist takes credit. if no, clove oil on a q-tip rubbed on tooth and gum really does numb, but doesn't last long. This does help a lot! Aspirin helps with the pain and swelling, if there is any. Or other pain killers or muscle relaxers. Steroids help with swelling, but not something to just experiment with.
